Rock Jam

4th Friday of the each month

Rock Jam: A Safe Place to Play.

Rock Jam is a monthly gathering of music lovers from various parts of the GTA. We meet in the sanctuary of Meadowvale Community Church on Friday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm.

Whether you are a seasoned professional musician, have never played outside of your own home before, or are simply a music lover, Rock Jam is a safe place to play. There are no membership or religious affiliation requirements. Participation is free and all are welcome!

At our monthly events we typically follow a musical theme (example: songs with people's names or place names), while singing and playing together. Though we favour classic pop-rock songs (what some now call "Dad Music" LOL), we welcome song requests from other musical genres. Song charts are projected on our large screen for participants to follow along. Our evenings are relaxed and fun. We share music trivia, have some good laughs and enjoy socializing together. Snacks are provided. Donations to the local food bank are welcome but not required.

Home Groups

Each meeting includes a time of socializing, studying God’s Word via the use of teaching videos, study books or direct reading and discussing a chosen section of the Bible and usually ends with a time of sharing and prayer. On occasion we will have a social evening such as a potluck meal together or (pre-covid) have a service evening where we volunteer at a service agency such as a food bank. New attendees are always welcome!

Women of the Hearth

We are a group of women who initially began meeting in response to the dream of one of our Grandmothers. Our lives are very different, but we are committed to meeting together every three weeks: creating space to listen to the voices of others, to hold each other as we are challenged and respond, to seek the energy of compassion and follow the call of Love. We create a safe space for feminine wisdom to arise: to let what we know and feel in our bodies and hearts come forward to express itself, awakening the wisdom that has been there forever but has often been silenced by patriarchal systems. We believe that Love, the heart of the Gospel, is both our birthright and our greatest resistance to the inequities we face, personally, structurally, globally and toward the creation.
